5 ways to keep your marriage interesting
You have been married for a number of years and you are starting to feel like everything is routine.
Some days you have to wonder did you even speak to your spouse about something other than did you pay that bill, what are we eating for dinner, or did you send the email to your child’s
teacher.
It is so easy to get wrapped up in the routine of life. Wake up, shower, brush your teeth, wash your face, get dressed, kiss your fa
mily with those everyday sayings (love you or be safe), go to work, come home, cook dinner, prepare for tomorrow, and then go to bed.
Wait did we have sex? Oh it’s Tuesday never mind we have tomorrow.
If you and your spouse are totally cont
ent with this, it is time to add some spark to your marriage. You know my favorite word, reconnect. It is important to not be ok with the norm. It creates excitement, something to look forward to, appreciation of those special moments, and it keeps the marriage interesting.
-
surprise your spouse at work with lunch or after work for a dinner date
-
plan an overnight getaway to a mediocre place, like a new mall, a wine tasting, national park, the ocean, casino, or my favorite check out a new hotel.
-
Go camping.
-
Be flirtatious and do some role playing at a bar. Ok Frankie would never agree to something like this. He despises role playing. and he never frequents bars.
-
Be your partners secret admirer. Write notes, send gifts, you know, do something secret. Set up a scavenger hunt with clues that relate to your relationship. I would love to hear about this, from someone who was on the receiving end. I’m sure it ‘s like getting your monthly beauty box, you just never know what you are going to get.
