Essential Oils for the Bedroom
Have you ever walked into a space and the smell made you feel so good inside? The scents took your mind on a journey back to your childhood, your first date, your wedding day, or the first time you discovered a love for yourself.
Essential oils have a reputation for doing the same. People use essential oils for so many things health, a spa day, cleaning, bug repellant, and the list goes on. I am going to share with you some oils that I think are great for the bedroom. They are relaxing scents and some are even erotic.
I am not an expert I am just sharing some scents that I enjoy using in the bedroom. To find out more information about these scents and other scents I have provided two links at the bottom of this post.
The smells in the atmosphere are an important part of your mood, especially in the bedroom.
- Lavender – Not only does lavender provide a medicinal advantage it is also known to relax the body and mind. Lavender is used in hospitals, spas, and during meditation. Lavender is also used for arousal with increased arousal in men. I love this scent! It is so calming. I usually buy lavender candles mixed with hemp and I use lavender in my diffuser.
- Sandalwood -This is such a masculine scent to me, I love it. It smells like a cologne that is just right for the nose. This scent is known to help with depression and to increase energy. It is also known to relax the body and mind and relaxation helps to put you in the mood for love.
- Ginseng – Now I am familiar with ginseng as a tea and an herb but not as an essential oil. I have also heard that ginseng is good for the male libido increasing erectile function.
- Ylang Ylang – This scent took some time for me to get used to. It is a strong smell but after a while, it calms. Ylang Ylang has been known to give a feel-good feeling. It helps with depression and can help improve how you feel about yourself.
- Bergamot – Another scent that reminds me of leather. It has that smell that makes you feel confident. It has been known to boost self-esteem, release tension, and act as a love magnet.
- Jasmine – I particularly don’t like the smell of jasmine. It smells too much like a heavy perfume, but it’s been known to boost mood especially in women. This oil helps with anxiety and depression which leads to more confidence in the bedroom.
- Rose – A romantic scent that oozes love. The scent of rose has been known to increase blood flow to the areas that relate to lovemaking. I find this to be a very floral and sensual scent but not too overbearing.
All of these scents have been known to rev things up in the bedroom and provide an aphrodisiac. I use essential oils in a diffuser but other ways to use oils is by putting drops on a pillow or sheets, putting a couple of drops on your skin (please check labels all oils are not intended to contact the skin.), candles with the essential oil scents, massaging and body butter with oils infused, and even in teas (again check your labels, not all oils can be ingested). Sometimes something as simple as putting drops in hot water is enough to set the mood.
However, you set the mood for love is great. If you are a person who takes the time to set the mood I give you a thumbs up because most times it is about getting it in before the rest of life disrupts such an amazing feeling. These moments we share with our significant other should be cherished and not rushed. Take it all in; the touches, the smells, the taste, and the sounds it all adds to the moment.
