14 Day Challenge – 14 Love Quotes
I have this idea of being able to say clever things at just the right time. Being able to express my love with just a simple line seems romantic, but I know if you ask my significant other he would say it’s a waste of time or if nothing more confusing. If you are a true romantic stare into the eyes of your loved one and whisper some of these quotes or better yet leave little notes around the house or in their lunch bag. I know it may seem a bit much but it’s the month of Valentine’s Day we all could be a little more romantic and in love. “To love…

14 Day Challenge – 14 Love Songs
Confession I missed day 2 of this challenge. Just goes to show how much in love I am. Just Kidding! Well, I am here today with two post. The first post being about love songs. Now this topic can really go on and on, but I have tried my best to only list 14. There are songs from the 70s till now, but I just focused on songs that I have heard time and time again that exude love. These songs are in no particular order, just the order of how my brain remembers things. I must say this was hard to do, because there are so many songs that just makes you…

Valentine’s Day, a day of love for all!
It’s that time of year of again when love is in the air, but mostly for those new relationships. I’m just kidding, it’s for the new and the old love. When this day comes around we just want to shower our special love ones with gifts and acts of kindness. If you know me I reserve this day for my children. I make a very big deal about it and shower them with gifts from the time they wake up until they go to bed that night. Everything I do has a personal touch of telling them why I love them so much. I like to use Valentine’s Day to show them that…

What type of wife are you?
During my daily devotion I was challenged to assess myself as a wife. Am I my husbands greatest partner, advocate? Am I his helper? I have always looked at myself as an average wife. Nothing too special, no bells and whistles, just a woman who respects her marriage which creates that respect for my husband. I do see myself as my husbands greatest partner because I am honest with him and I express how I feel about the decisions he made for himself and for this family. We do not always agree, but the goal is to create an environment where we have the freedom to tell each other everything, we are respectful to each…

The Power of What If
Do you ever find yourself thinking about what if you had done things differently in your life. Where would you be, who would you be with, and would you be happier. That little what if voice can sometimes bring emotions that confuse how you look at your life or how you look at yourself and your accomplishments or lack there of. What if I had finished school I married my high school/college sweetheart I didn’t get married I didn’t have children I took that job I pursued that relationship I forgave my partner for cheating and decided to stay I moved away I didn’t have that affair The list could go on and…

Is Love Everything?
I was on my way to work and Brandy song “Nothing” started playing from my iPhone. The lyrics started out saying “Love is everything, and without it I’m nothing.” I thought about that statement for a moment and had to ask myself if I felt the same. The love that I get from my spouse is different from the love I get from my children, which is different from the love I get from my parents and siblings. Could I live without being loved by someone? Because I know what it is to be loved I can relate to what Brandy is saying. Love from my family is what drives me everyday to…

Are you a power couple?
Do you ever think of you and your partner as a power couple? If so, what kind of power couple are you? Are you both successful at your careers? Are you both making high-end salaries? Do you both run a business or multiple business that are thriving? Do one of you work and the other take care of the family? Are you the type of couple making ends meet but your relationship is strong and your bond tight? Are you all that couple that everyone wants to be? On my journey of building a great marriage I have met couples who identified their marriage or relationship as being a power couple. This was…

Can marriage survive the loss of a child?
I write this not knowing from personal experience, but from what I have read, talked about with others, and seen. To lose something so precious as your child is hard to even comprehend, but to continue a relationship with your spouse or anyone would truly be a challenge. When I think of my children I think of them as the filling that completes our family sandwich. My husband and I are the bread and they are everything in between. They challenge us to be our best selves and they have the best seat in the house when seeing us at our worse. They don’t judge, they don’t hold on to it to through…
