    Love is in the air

It’s fall and it’s the perfect season for love. Fall or Autumn as some call it is the season where the most relationships go from casual to real love and commitment.  It is also the season where singles find the “one” they have been waiting for. What is the logic behind this, I don’t know, but I do have a theory. I personally love fall. It is my favorite time of the year and it puts me in a cozy loving mood. In the summer it’s too hot to cuddle but it’s the perfect time to show off that body you have been working on all year.  Heads turn too much in the…

    Dating After Divorce

Thinking about dating after finalizing those divorce papers? Or maybe you are thinking about the act of having to date if you get a divorce. Either way, the thought may have crossed your mind and you are not sure what the etiquette is for dating after divorce. I’m not an expert but I would suggest going with what you feel.  Let me explain what I mean when I say that.  I’m not talking about if you feel you need to be touched its time to start dating. I mean after you have spent time dating yourself and learning all the great things about yourself then evaluate how you feel about the idea of…

Does absence make the heart grow fonder?

I thought I would talk about this topic because every time it comes around my opinion on the matter is completely different from what the rest of the world is thinking. The word absence according to Google means the state of being away from a person or place. We experience that with our partners more times than we realize.  They are absent when we go to work, school, out with friends, and for time periods beyond our control. absence is not defined with a time period it is any amount of time. Now I have two views on this.  I personally do not think absence makes the heart grow fonder but there are…

5 Ways to let someone know you are interested

Have you ever been in a situation where you like someone and you think they like you too, but they are not making any moves?  You start to think “am I sending off the right vibes?” I mean sometimes as a woman you have to just take the lead on this one and let him know, hey I’m interested, now you make the next move. If only our mothers were not like “You never throw yourself at a man, let him approach you, stop being so desperate.” LOL! That’s my mom anyway.   Well, it may not be that you are desperate, but as women, we have become this group of fierce be all…

Would you do anything for love?

I have asked this question over and over again to myself, to my friends, to my family, and to my husband and the answers are never the same. Would you do anything for love? No is the answer I get from most, but if you thought about it as a positive emotion and not negative you might feel differently. I just watched the movie “Everything, Everything”, which was a teen love story that was so pure and loving.  She thought she wouldn’t do anything for love but being in love changed that for her.  Although she risked her life for love, she was really allowing love to help her take chances that she…

    Couples Therapy

I have been thinking about this topic from time to time.  It’s not that I think we need couples therapy, it’s just that I think about its purpose. Do you go to couples therapy when things are great and you want to keep it that way Do you go to couples therapy when you feel the spark in your relationship starting to fizz out Do you go to couples therapy when things are not as good as they use to be and you want your relationship to work Do you go to couples therapy when things are bad and you just can’t stand the sight of the other person Do you go to…

The Art of the French Kiss

This topic may be a little uncomfortable for some, but I will try to make it as PG as I can. Getting personal now – I think back to the type of kisses my husband and I use to give each other when life was a little slower and free. Our kisses lingered and then there was the look into each other’s eyes afterward and then the smile before departing.  Can you imagine? Now we are lucky if we get a peck or a childhood blow you a kiss gesture.  I have to laugh at how things change with time.  It reminds me of the saying “Take time to smell the roses.” After…

    No Relationship is Perfect!

Time and time again we, meaning anyone who thinks this way. We think that the great relationships we see in public are perfect relationships.  We forget that there is a real side to relationships and how couples want things to look to others. There is work that goes into everything that is worth having.  If we continue to search for perfection we will get disappointed every time.  Relationships take work, effort, and going against the opinions of what others may think is best for you. Some people are not able to commit to a relationship because it does not mimic the perfect relationship they see in others. Wake up and understand people only…

    14 Day Challenge – Valentine’s Day

I must say, blogging everyday for 14 days has been a challenge. Writing everyday is not the challenge, but only writing about one topic and naming 14 great things about that topic is the challenge. Everyone needs to be challenged at times, in their lives.  We become complacent when we don’t have to think about things that are not apart of our day-to-day. Well, it is finally Valentine’s Day and instead of being happy I am rather sad. You would think blogging about love would make you feel love, but today has been a day of heartache.  Life always has surprises right when you are comfortable with everything being neutral.  I confess I…

    14 Day Challenge – Love is…

Are you familiar with the Love is comic strip created by Kim Casali and Bill Asprey? Well, if you don’t know about the comic they have been around for many years and they continue to be published in newspapers today. The comic originated from a series of love notes that Kim Casali had drawn for her future husband, Roberto Casali, according to Wikipedia.  When her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer Bill Asprey continued the comic while Kim spent time with her husband.  Kim has now passed on but her comic strip can be seen daily in the newspaper, except for Sundays. There are quite a few Love is comic strips, so this…
